At Accent On Homes, we've done our best to create a Web site that anticipates and satisfies our customers' needs. With that goal in mind, we've compiled a list of frequently asked questions. If you do not find an answer to your question here, contact us at 08-9456-3366.

What areas do you build in?
- The current extent of our building areas is from Dawesville in the south, Butler in the north and Midland to the east (Perth, WA.).These areas may alter from time to time subject to the state of the industry and there may also be an area surcharge applied to some of the suburbs on the extremities.

Are we restricted to your designs?
- No, in fact we build predominantly individual designed homes for our clients. Our standard range homes and advertised homes are only a small sample of the hundreds that have been developed over the years for our clients. We are happy to work with you to develop a design specifically tailored to your needs, wants and budget. Obviously this service does have its limitations and design fees may be requested from you after the first 2 sketches.

Can we make changes to the design?
- Alterations to the design we are working on for you right up to the point of lodging your plans to the local authorities can be carried out at no charge (within reason). Once the plans have been lodged, changes while still permissible will incur a variation fee along with possible charges related to lodging amended plans to the local authorities.

Will you build a home to “lock up” stage only?
- Yes, in fact we recommend this to those clients that want to be heavily involved in the finishing off of their home (i.e. supplying goods and contractors). The mixing of owner supplied goods and trades with the builder supplied ones can become a logistical nightmare and as such we will generally try to avoid those situations. Download our information flyer about building to lock up.

Do you have any limits on the price you will build to?
- Yes, because of our size and structure and the general policy of trying to give all our clients a similar level of service and on site supervision, we have an upper limit of $750,000.00 AUD (approximately)
Will you build any type of home or for any client?
- Again, because of our size and structure we have to be a little sensitive when it comes to the selection of our clients, for example if someone wants a very unique or unusual style or wants to be extensively involved with the actual construction process and have the flexibility of being able to change specifications on the run, we are not necessarily your builder.
Will you build from other builders or designers plans?
- No, unless you are able to provide documentation showing that you have been given permission to build the home we will not even price the project. If you can show you own the copyright or have drawn the design yourself, we are happy to price the home for you and even work with you to develop the design further if you wish.
Will the building process be quicker with Accent than other builders?
- As a general rule, no; we are subject to the same trade and material availability as the rest of the industry at any given time. We do process your job from point of sale to being ready to go to site in a very competitive timeframe, however which does help to shorten the overall process. Generally we have lodged your plans for building approval within 2 weeks of signing the preparation of plans agreement.
If I get you to design my home, do I have to build with you?
- No, getting us to design you a home in no way obligates you enter a building agreement. The normal process is, when you are happy with the design and pricing you would most likely enter what we call a preparation of plans agreement which is just that, you are still not obligated (and nor are we)to enter a building contract.
If I get you to design me a home and decide not to proceed to the next stage, can I use the plans?
- Generally, no. The plans and documentation always remain the property of the builder (us) and are protected by the laws of copyright. This even applies if the design is based on your ideas. If you want to then go to another builder, you must take only your original ideas to the other builder not our plans.
